Publisher Akupara Games and developer Joe Richardson have announced that The Immortal John Triptych, an anthology collecting three of Richardson’s point-and-click adventures, will launch August 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox 1, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC via Steam. A release date trailer accompanied the announcement.
The collection combines Four Last Things, The Procession to Calvary, and Death of the Reprobate. For two of them it also marks their debut on PlayStation, since Four Last Things and Death of the Reprobate had never reached Sony’s consoles before. Each game features a standalone story, but they all share the same world, characters, and themes. The unifying aesthetic is their striking visual style: every scene is a seamless collage built from hundreds of classical paintings, reassembling Renaissance, Rococo, and early Romantic art into one continuous universe. The soundtrack follows suit by pairing public domain classical pieces with Eduardo Antonello‘s original compositions, played on historical instruments. Richardson’s writing adds a Monty Python flair, turning deep religious and philosophical concepts into pure comedy without sacrificing the strict internal logic of the puzzles.
On PC, the collection acts as an upgrade. Steam players can grab it as DLC, jokingly titled ‘The Immortal John Triptych: Weird Extra Content Art Gallery DLC Thing-y.’ Buying it unlocks any games you don’t already own within the Triptych, while your existing library stays untouched. Plus, a free update is launching for all three base games to unify their features, even if you skip the DLC.
The original games were well received. This new remaster unites all three under a single, consistent interface and adds full controller support. It also packs in plenty of previously unseen extras, like bonus scenes, deleted content, and timelapse footage showing how Richardson pieced the collage artwork together.
The Immortal John Triptych is available to wishlist now on Steam.
