Airframe Ultra Release Date Reveal

Fans of retro arcade racing games want to keep an eye out Airframe Ultra, a battle-racing game that takes players through rusting shipyards, skyscrapers, and dune dens. Players are known as a gutterborn, in Megacity West, on the same social ladder as thieves and smugglers, but they can climb their way to the top as a racer with their Airframe vehicle. Each circuit one is another step closer to fame and fortune.

The game can be played split-screen with friends or through it’s online multiplayer feature. There are weapons players can use to take down other racers and secure their first place position. These weapons include pipes, chains and plasma torches. This is a game where players can do whatever it takes to win without consequences, mostly.

Akupara Games, the publishers of Airframe Ultra, posted an official release date announcement trailer on their YouTube channel. The trailer features a mixture of 2D cinematic scenes, but the core gameplay is in the retro arcade style. It highlights various circuits players will encounter along with the chaos sure to dominate the race track.

Combat on the track ranges from players using stop signs as lancing spears to ramming their Airframe into racers knocked off their vehicle. One race is also shown using a machine gun to mow down opponents ahead of them. It is a game that brings The Mega Race from Spy Kids 3 to mind, where racers must watch out for attacks, other cars on the roads, while boosting their way down the track.

One key feature of Airframe Ultra is that players are able to earn cosmetic items. There are various helmets and clothes for players to collect and they can customize the appearance of their vehicle. Airframe Ultra is set to come out November 5th, 2025 for PC players and is already available to be wishlisted. Once it launches, players can purchase the game on Steam, the Epic Games Store, or GOG.
