Adventure Game Roki Has You In The Dark Woods

Picture being lost in the woods at night. You can hardly see your hands in front of your face and you’re flinching every time a branch breaks around you, worried that you may never find your way out. If this gives you a thrill, then you are probably going to enjoy an upcoming adventure game called Roki.

Roki has you play as girl trapped in the woods in the snow. She has headed out into the wild and she is going to find more than just trees and snow. You can watch the trailer below.

The trailer shows you some of the environments that you will be adventuring through. You’re seen crossing rivers, find your way in and out of caves as well as climbing up a mountain without any kind of mountain climbing gear. She even sees a village, which may or may not be the village that she is from. You can also see a sense of fear in her movements. Toward the end, you see her moving slowly, breathing in and out. As it is snowing out, you can see the breath itself. As she adventures slowly into the woods, you see a giant monster with glowing blue eyes. At first glance, it appears to look like a giant rabbit monster with jet black fur, which might also just be an effect that hints that the she is ignorant of the monster’s presence.

Roki is a point and click adventure from developer Polygon Treehouse. It is set to be released sometime in 2018.

Polygon Treehouse is a new studio founded by two former art directors at Guerilla Cambridge. Right now, it appears to be their only game; their official website only shows the trailer for Roki.

Bryan Ingram: My name is Bryan. I just graduated from High Point University with a degree in Journalism. I'm 25 and writing has always been a part of my life. I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
