Earlier today during Epic Games’ keynote at the Game Developer Conference, it was announced that French studio Quantic Dream and Epic Games are teaming up to bring a trio of the studio’s games to PC exclusively via Epic’s online storefront. The trio of games include 2010’s Heavy Rain, 2013’s Beyond: Two Souls, and 2018’s Detroit: Become Human. This will be the first time Quantic Dream games are playable on PC since 2005 as these three titles were previously published by Sony exclusively on PlayStation platforms. Though no release date has been stated, all three games are set to come out this year.

The move to put these games on PC follows the announcement back in January that Chinese company NetEase had purchased a minority stake in the studio which would allow the studio to put their games on multiple platforms. Regarding the studio’s relationship with Sony, in an email between IGN and Quantic Dream’s Guillaume de Fondaumiere, de Fondaumiere considers Sony “to be a partner with whom we entertain an excellent relationship with.” de Fondaumiere would also state that there will be “notable changes” to the games upon release.
While the exclusivity deal is only set to last one year, this partnership continues Epic Games’ attempt to bring a plethora of exclusives to their online storefront. The company had already partnered with former PlayStation exclusive, Journey, for exclusivity when it debuted on PC. Recently, the company also partnered with 4A Games and Ubisoft to bring AAA games Metro: Exodus and The Division 2 exclusively to PC respectively. With the Epic Games Store fantastic 88/12 revenue split, it won’t be surprising if the company continues to partner with studios and nab as many exclusives as possible as time goes on.
