A Simple Job For Men With Nerve: Cordura

Take on a job that is simple, for men with nerve.

Invite up to three friends to help you mine Roses of the Night, which is the source of the Ambrosia–”A potent neurostimulant coveted by the aristocracy for their decadent gatherings”. Mining the roses is the simple part, the part where nerve comes into play is the danger that surrounds these flowers.

Cordura takes place in a Victorian Era, where the playable characters are dressed for the era and the setting reflects this as well. The Roses of the Night grow within the walls of Victorian buildings, shells of their once lively selves. Players and their friends will have to navigate through the labyrinth of the hallways inside, easier said than done considering the mansion will readjust the shape of the halls in real time. In order to combat this, marking the walls is necessary to find your way around, once familiar routes will disappear before your very eyes; relying purely on appearance and memory will only lead you to get lost. This ensures two hunts for the roses are never the same.

The most efficient way to guarantee survival and secure the Roses of the Night is to work together. Working closely with friends using voice proximity chat is the best way to keep everyone safe and informed, but use it to your own discretion. While communication is an important part of this game, so is staying quiet and hidden. The dark listens to every word exchanged between players, waiting for the perfect time to use it to its advantage. A mimic system will take what you say and replay it to misguide you and your teammates, even going as far as taking on the appearance of friends to lead you astray. Falling victim to this mimic component will damage your sanity, something integral to completing the job, and the only way to fix this is to reunite with your actual teammates.

Cordura can be wishlisted on Steam and the PlayStation Store.
