A Remastered Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Heading to PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch

A remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is heading to next-generation consoles and  Nintendo this year. Activision announced the news in a blog post after a spirited Twitter thread between Activision, Crash Bandicoot, Nintendo of America, and the man himself — Tony Hawk. If you already bought it for an older-gen console, have no fear, Activision is offering a variety of upgrade scenarios for the reworked title. The 2-in-one remaster will be heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X on March 26th of this year.

If you already got your hands on the Digital Deluxe version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One you can upgrade to next-gen free of charge. For PlayStation 5 owners, if you previously bought the game digitally you can upgrade to the “Cross-Gen Deluxe Bundle” for just $10 dollars. A physical PlayStation 4 version of the game will also be available for an upgrade, but a physical Xbox One version won’t. For both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X  consoles, the game will play at native 4k at 60 fps. The weaker Xbox Series S will run at 1440p and upscale to 4k.

Activision hasn’t revealed the Nintendo Switch release date just yet. According to Inverse, the Switch version “will probably look and run a bit worse [than Xbox and PlayStation next-gen versions], though Activision has not shared the targeted frame rate and resolution for this port yet. That trade-off might be worth it for fans that want to be able to play the game on the go in the Nintendo Switch’s handheld mode.” Stay tuned for information on when you can start to shred.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 is now available for pre-order for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X for $39.99.
