Developer Asobo and publisher Focus Entertainment have achieved a new milestone with their newest title. The latter made a post on Twitter sharing the news, revealing that more than a million people have played A Plague Tale: Requiem, and doing so only a little more than one week since it launched across several systems and PC. The game is also available on the Xbox Game Pass, making it even more accessible in the process.
A Plague Tale: Requiem has been generally well received since it released last month with many calling it worthy follow-up to its predecessor, 2019’s A Plague Tale Innocence. In a statement made with a post on Business Wire, Managing Director of Focus Entertainment John Bert said that he was very pleased to see people embrace the game’s style and features as well as praising Asobo’s work on the title. “We are extremely proud of our partner Asobo Studio and its teams for once again demonstrating their talent and expertise in delivering compelling and original experiences that will resonate with everyone”
Asobo’s Creative Director and Co-founder David Dedeine also gave the development team some praise, as well as thanking the fans for re-engaging with the world that they had created. “We would like to warmly thank the players for all that they have shown us, which not only touches us but also allows us to continue doing what drives us as a team: offering original experiences, rich in emotions and innovation.” A Plague Tale: Requiem follows siblings Amicia and Hugo as they travel in order to find a way to cure the latter of their disease, all while utilizing stealth mechanics and confronting attackers in order to protect her brother.
A Plague Tale: Requiem is available now for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, the Nintendo Switch, and PC.
