Another sneak peek into what is to be expected in the narrative of A Plague Tale: Innocence has been revealed. Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive have released their newest trailer for the game that delves into more of the upcoming title’s story. We first touched on Innocence’s interesting subject matter last year when the studio released an early trailer.
The newest video focuses heavily on the story and the dramatic events that will unfold in the character’s somewhat medieval surroundings. In a gorgeous cinematic, the trailer heightens the urgency of an unknown villain searching for a royal son. This is “just a glimpse of the heartbreaking tale of young Amicia and her brother Hugo, on the run from the Black Death, a plague of rats, the Inquisition, and worse.” The epic will take players on an emotional journey with Amicia and Hugo as after the rest of the De Rune family’s lives are shattered by disease and the Inquisition in the 1349 Kingdom of France. Check out the latest trailer here:
Amicia, one of the De Rune daughters, is only fifteen years old, but will show her strength as she has to step up to take care of her younger brother Hugo, who she has never had a strong connection with until now. She has been well trailed by her father to hunt, which will be vital to their survival as they are on the run. Since his infancy, the five-year-old Hugo has been diagnosed with an unknown strain of disease that has kept him isolated for most of his life until the siblings must go on the run from the Inquisition. Without the ability to fight these veteran soldiers, Hugo and Amicia will have to utilize stealth when encountering them. The faction are pursuing these children, but why? We’ll find out later this year.
A Plague Tale: Innocence will be released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Steam Store May 14.
