A Place For The Unwilling Releases Its First Gameplay Trailer

ALpixel Games posted an update on their Twitter page regarding their upcoming game, A Place for the Unwilling. The studio released the first game trailer for the project just last week. The team hopes that the trailer will give players a better understanding of what to expect from the new mystery-adventure narrative.

Players will visit the city after receiving word that they have inherited the house and business of an old friend after his passing. A Place for the Unwilling is a game that focuses on a story. There are no boss battles, no puzzles, and no quests. Players will get to explore the mysterious city freely. What’s the catch? The world ends in 21 days, so pick and choose your actions carefully. Time is important. You cannot be everywhere at once, and the citizens will continue their lives with or without you. Your choices will shape the story’s outcome. With over 100 different narrative events based on your decisions, players can experience multiple unique playthroughs. With only 21 days until the city dies, how will you spend those last days?

How can one create a game where every step taken, every moment spent, every conscience decision dictates the outcome of the story? In an interview done by PC Gamer, Luis Diaz, a developer for ALpixel Games, elaborated on the importance of time to the overall storyline and gameplay behind A Place for the Unwilling.

If there are a lot of things happening in the city and you don’t have enough time to see them all, then time becomes a really valuable resource. Suddenly you’re not only talking to people and following a script, you can choose to leave at any point and spend your time somewhere else. You’re managing something precious and making meaningful decisions all the time.

A Place for the Unwilling is expected to launch on PC later this year, although no official release date has been made as of now. For more updates on the game’s progress, be sure to visit the studio’s website and social media pages.

I love storytelling more than any subject, and would probably watch, read, or play anything given to me just to know how it ends.
