A Nintendo Direct might be arriving as early as this week. That’s according to UnivNintendo journalist necrolipe on X/Twitter. The rumored Nintendo Direct is said to occur Thursday February 15, just in time for Valentine’s Day. While it’s unknown how long and what will be showcased in the direct, an announcement could be expected as early as Wednesday.
As the Nintendo Switch continues down its twilight years, many fans have wondered and continue to hope for a big reveal in 2024. While nothing is certain pertaining to the Switch’s successor console, more rumors have come out around a possible collaboration between Nintendo and Microsoft. This is mainly due to Microsoft’s recently announced business update from its Official Microsoft Podcast.
The podcast will launch this Thursday, February 15 at 12 PM PT and 3 PM ET, the same day the rumored Nintendo Direct is alleged to air. The podcast will feature discussions on what the future holds for Microsoft Gaming, with major Microsoft executives including Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond and Matt Booty.
While nothing is confirmed, the exact dates haven’t gone unnoticed by many within the industry.
Rumors of a Nintendo collaboration with Xbox initially sprung up around February 1st, when a Hi-Fi Rush datamine potentially revealed marketing materials hinting at a Nintendo Switch port.
Regardless, nothing is certain until it’s officially confirmed. Fans who are curious should stay up to date on Nintendo’s official social media accounts and tune in on the Official Xbox Podcast episode on Thursday, just in case.
