In February, Nintendo and developer Monolith revealed and announced Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the next installment in the JRPG series. It was set for release in September but got moved up and will launch next month on July 29. Today, Nintendo has announced a new Nintendo Direct will take place later this week and will be focused on the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The Direct is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 7 am PT | 10 am ET. According to Nintendo, the presentation will be “roughly 20 minutes of information about the upcoming RPG adventure.”

In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, players will take on the roles of Noah and Mio amid turmoil between the hostile nations of Keves and Agnus. Six characters will be involved in a grand tale with “life” serving as the central theme. The new world connects the futures of both Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Ever since E3 was canceled again this year, many were wondering whether or not developers and publishers would be doing anything around this time. Last weekend was Summer Game Fest which had a State of Play, the Summer Game Fest Showcase, the Xbox & Bethesda Game Showcase, and more but nothing has been announced by Nintendo until now.
While this is technically a Nintendo Direct, this one is primarily focused on one game which is something Nintendo does, however, we might be getting another, big Nintendo Direct very soon, according to multiple sources.
During a livestream reacting to the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Sony Santa Monica writer and former journalist Alanah Pearce said that a Nintendo Direct is coming. “Is there a Nintendo Direct announced? No, but I believe that there is a Nintendo Direct coming on the 29th. I don’t know that that’s been announced, you heard it here first,” Pearce said. “Let me check… I have it written down. 29th, yeah, June 29th, Nintendo Direct. It’s not technically a leak because Nintendo didn’t tell me, which is how I make that call. But I’m not leaking anything that’s in it, which I think is s****y.”
Other sources have backed Pearce and claimed that the information is accurate. VGC has stated that what Alanah Pearce said matched what they’ve been told. Others have gone to Twitter saying the same.
The information is accurate. The window of airing is either June 28 or June 29 — may depend on time zone/regional location.
It was never planned for the coming week. It’s been slated for late June for many, many weeks. This is not the result of a delay.
It’s as planned. https://t.co/XPIFkZqQch

Whether or not there will be another Direct is something we’ll have to wait and see to find out.
