A New Map May Be Coming To Fortnite

Today, popular Twitch streamer Tyler “Ninja” Belvins shared news about Fortnite event he will be attending next week and has revealed that at the event, a new map will be used. The Samsung event is a celebration of a new outfit and Scenario emote inspired by Jung Chanwoo from the K-Pop band, iKON. The event will take place at Samsung 837, in New York. Ninja and Jung Chanwoo from iKON will be at the event. You can sign up to attend and/or compete at the event which takes place on March 16. The game will take place on a custom, never-before-played Fortnite map.

It is unclear if this new map will stay after it is revealed or if it was just a special map meant exclusively for the event. More information about that may be revealed at the event. The outfit and emote will become available on March 8, 2019, exclusive only to owners of the Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+, and the S10e.

This comes off the heels of the recently released season 8 of Fortnite, which brings a variety of pirate-themed elements into the game. The season will revolve around a three-way battle between the Ice King, the Prisoner, and a crew of pirates.

A new party assist feature makes its way into the game. This lets players help each other with challenges. Classic pirate cannons will be scattered throughout the map now, and deal 100 damage on a direct hit and 50 damage to anyone in the blast radius. It is also possible to fire yourself to reach different places.

An active volcano has been made a part of the map as well. You’ll lose 1 point of damage if you touch the lava and you’ll bounce off the surface. There are also volcanic vents that will shoot you and vehicles into the sky.

The new season also seems to take a cue from Apex Legends with its own ping system. Players will be able to call out locations and items they find in the world. It isn’t as robust as the system in Apex Legends, but many players noticed it immediately once the season kicked off.
