Out of all of CD Projekt Red’s upcoming games, the new Witcher trilogy has generated the most excitement. Following the announcement of a new Witcher trilogy earlier this year, which is currently in pre-production, the new director for these the trilogy has finally been announced. Veteran CD Projekt animator Sebastian Kalemba will be taking up the position according to his announcement on Twitter. Before his new position, Kalemba was responsible for the animation teams of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 as Lead Animator. Kalemba has also been the Head of Animation and Animation Director for CD Projekt Red since 2016.
Career news: I’m directing the new Witcher Saga. Since joining @CDPROJEKTRED I believe nothing is impossible and raising the bar, telling emotional stories & creating worlds is what we’re here for. I’m proud to be part of CDPR and work with such a talented and passionate team.

However, as noted by IGN, a different director was already announced for The Witcher 4: Jason Slama, game director and UI programmer on The Witcher 3. CD Projekt Red has yet to clarify. According to IGN, Slama is still listed as the Director for the Witcher trilogy on his social media pages. CD Projekt Red has yet to clarify if Kalemba is taking over or if Slama is still in his position as director.
I am super thrilled to announce that I have humbly been working to ensure the success of the next big AAA The Witcher game as its Game Director! Think you could join the team? We have tons of roles open with the possibility of remote work we could discuss! https://t.co/bBbxs0JMmq

Hopefully, further clarification on the situation will be given either in the coming days or months.
CD Projekt Red has several Witcher games in development alongside the start of a new trilogy. There is one that will offer multiplayer, and a remake of The Witcher which will be rebuilt from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5. CD Projekt Red is also working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and a new IP.
