A Boy And His Blob, Available Now On Switch

A Boy And His Blob, is a 2D side-scrolling platform that is sure to take the gaming world by storm on Nov. 4, 2021, for the Switch. It was first released in 2009 on the Wii and has since been slowly making its way over to the other platforms, even the PS Vita got a go with this one. The game is combining puzzles and platforms so if you love both keep reading.

This story-driven game is centered around you guessed it a young boy and his ever-changing blob, traveling across many levels facing different obstacles. Feeding the blob one of 15 different colored and flavored jellybeans changes their shape to aid in whatever challenge you are up against. An evil emperor threatens blob’s home planet of Blobolonia, so they flee to earth seeking help. Something tells me that the blob was looking for an older person to help in the saving of his planet, but you take what you can get.

Developed by Wayforward with the help of Abstraction and published by Majesco Entertainment and Ziggurat, this game turned into a cult classic masterpiece as it is a re-imagining of A Boy And His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, released for the NES in 1989. More impressive is that the art is all hand-drawn and it has an amazing animated presentation.

Featuring four worlds with 10 levels in each and many bonus levels along the way with boss battles, A Boy And His Blob should keep you entertained for many hours to come. The best part of the game is it’s only $15 and you can hug the blob so even if the levels get too frustrating just hug the blob and you will forget about all the hard parts, making the game melt away. With the lush environments and charming characters, there is something for everyone to love.

Video games let you get away with crimes and actions you should never dream of doing in real life. If I am not playing video games, I am watching LSU, Saints, and cheering for #18 Kyle Busch in NASCAR.
