Looks like Japan gets all the goodies first. Though I guess that makes sense, SNK is a Japanese company overall. IGN Japan recently posted 8 minutes of gameplay for the first character in their Season 1 DLC line-up for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Andy Bogard.
Andy Bogard is the brother of Terry Bogard and the fiance of Mai Shiranui. He’s also the joint mentor of the youngster and resident top tier Hokutomaru. In Mark of the Wolves Andy was conspicuous by his absence. While Mai made an indirect impact in that game by influencing the majority of Hokutomaro’s fighting style with Shiranui style martial arts, Andy didn’t have an impact in that game at all, with Terry not really mentioning him and Andy only really showing up in Hokutomaru’s ending slide.
Now, Andy is looking to make more of a direct impact in the Wolves series alongside a couple other Fatal Fury mainstays. Andy’s sporting a new shorter hairstyle but keeping his ninja style arm guards and undershirt, also returning are some of his classic moves such as the Hishou Ken fireball, dash elbow, and Kuuha Dan drill kick. He’s also gained the ability to throw fireballs in the air, similar to Rock Howard, and it’s looking like he gets a new stance as well.
As stated, Andy is the first DLC character for City of the Wolves’ Season 1 line-up. Following him will be Street Fighter guest character Ken Masters, who should drop sometime in the summer alongside Andy. After them we’ll get series mainstay Joe Higashi (w/glasses) and after him is the second guest character in Street Fighter’s Chun Li. Finally, fan favorite Mr. Big will round out Season 1. You can say a lot about Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, but you can’t deny the gameplay is fun and Andy is looking to continue that trend.
