Today indie developer and publisher RedDeerGames has announced that their new game 7 Horizons will be launching later this year on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. RedDeerGames has published a number of indie games in the past including Cyber Protocol and Brawl Chess. 7 Horizons is a 2D platformer shooter that is reminiscent of classic games such as Megaman and Rayman.
In 7 Horizons you play as Jelly, a creature who is able to adapt his form and skills to those that he meets, as he travels across the galaxy in order to free his mentor and stop the mysterious planet-sized creature known as the Distortion. The game boasts a comic book art style and humor that is meant to match it. Along the way, players will take control of some of Jelly’s friends from different planets, as each have their own set of unique skills and weapons. Players will run, jump, and shoot their way through levels with a multitude of enemies and secrets to keep them occupied. 7 Horizons features hand-drawn graphics and each world contains its own unique theme such as a gelatinous planet, or land in the clouds. Each of these planets are meant to reflect and compliment the playable character that lives on it. Fans of classic retro platformers should definitely keep an eye out for when 7 Horizons finally launches.
7 Horizons will release later this year on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Those who are interested in the game are currently able to wishlist it on Steam in order to be notified when the game finally releases.
