It looks like we’ll be getting some E3 type showcases earlier than anticipated. Italian-based 505 Games has announced that they will be having a special livestream dubbed the 505 Games Showcase Spring 2022 and will have updates for existing titles as well as some new announcements. The publisher states in their post that they will have “a surprise or two” during the stream, as well as a community Q&A session with select developers to talk about the shown titles once the event is finished.
505 Games didn’t go further into detail regarding what titles we should expect to see, but there are some guesses as to what it could be. We’ll more than likely see some more information regarding the JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, which actually just released this week and was developed by Rabbit and Bear Studios. They’re also currently working on a follow-up, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which has a tentative release time frame of 2023, so it’s possible that we’ll hear more about that during the event. They also have a new IP coming out later this month, Gunfire Reborn, although a release date hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Perhaps the IP that 505 Games is most associated with is Remedy’s Control, the critically acclaimed 2019 title that was nominated for numerous Game of the Year awards. Remedy has of course since moved on and is currently working on the highly anticipated Alan Wake 2, so it’s very possible that one of those surprises might be a brand new IP that 505 Games is getting ready to unleash upon us. Thankfully the showcase is this month, so we won’t have to wait long to find out.
The 505 Game Showcase Spring 2022 will commence on May 17 at 6:00 AM PST/9:00 AM EST on their official YouTube channel.
