4-Player Party Mode Launches Tomorrow for Watch Dogs 2

Ubisoft has announced the latest in the string of free updates for Watch Dogs 2, which have built considerably on the core game initially released back in 2016.  This new update adds 4-player party mode to the game, finally delivering on a new game mode that players of Watch Dogs 2 have been requesting for a long time.  With the new mode, players will be able to party up with friends, or with randoms assigned through the game’s matchmaking, and explore the San Francisco area together in free roam.

On the update, Watch Dogs 2 producer Kris Young said:

It’s something we’ve been thinking about for a long time…It’s always more fun to be in a team, and the online modes we have are great, but we really wanted to expand on them. We also pay attention to what our community is saying, and it’s something they’ve been clamoring for, so we’re happy to finally make it available to everyone.

In the new mode, players will be able to start or join their own parties, either privately with friends or in public groups with strangers, and then roam through San Francisco in-game together.  All of the aspects of the regular single-player world will be there, including interactive NPCs, police, and Red Zones, and can be encountered and dealt with while the players travel together.  While in the party together, the players can also launch a new activity at any time and jump into any of the existing 4-player game modes for Watch Dogs 2, including Bounties, Invasions, Loot Trucks, Races, Showdown, Man vs. Machine Robot Fights, and the DedSec Virus events.

To ring in the launch of the new update, and celebrate American Independence Day for the 4th, Watch Dogs 2 will also be having a in-game event for the month of July that adds fireworks and special red, white, and blue colors for the game’s paintball gun.
