Today, BAFTA has revealed the nominees for the 2021 British Academy Games Awards. The Awards will take place later this month on March 25, 2021. You can watch the BAFTA Game Awards on Facebook, Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, and for the first time, Steam. Similar to The Game Awards 2020, it will be a 90-minute online live stream hosted by presenter and journalist Elle Osilli-Wood. 17 craft areas will be honored including the public-voted EE Game of the Year award and the BAFTA Fellowship. The winners’ acceptance speeches will be streamed live, shining a light on the creative talent behind the year’s biggest titles. BAFTA said that “this year’s show format will focus on the audience at home, highlighting the role that games play in our lives and how they have kept us all connected, entertained and inspired over the past year.”
The Last of Us Part II leads this year’s group of nominees with 13 nominations, making history as the highest number of nominations for a game in the history of the BAFTA Games Awards beating out Control and Death Stranding last year with 11 nominations. Ghost of Tsushima follows with 10 nominations. Hades received 8 nominations. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales got 7 nominations.
