11 bit Partners With War Child to Help Children in Warzones

This War of Mine developer 11 bit are serious about using their popularity to help the needy. In a press release, the studio announced that they have partnered with UK charity War Child to help  children living in war zones.

Fans of the developer and their popular war survival game are encouraged to donate at least a dollar to War Child through a dedicated site. The charity drive will run till the 29th of January, and proceeds will be used to provide medical aid, schooling and other amenities to said children.

War Child is a small operation, consisting of 29 personnel in north London. Despite their small size, they claim to have helped as many as 55,000 children and their communities with direct aid. Their website contains details on their expenditures and operations.

As an added incentive, anyone who donates at least a dollar to War Child through the drive will be eligible for a raffle that features some tempting prizes. These include an Alienware 14″ laptop, a very powerful NVIDIA Geforce GTX980 graphics card, an NVIDIA Shield tablet and controller, ten Steelseries Stratus controllers, ten Steelseries Siberia Raw Prism gaming headsets, and 25 codes for This War of Mine.

Released in November last year, This War of Mine received overwhelmingly positive reviews for offering a serious, morally challenging look at war while remaining strategically complex at the same time. The game made back its entire budget within two days of release and was one of the best selling games on Steam for several weeks.

11 Bit will also be present at the upcoming PAX South in San Antonio, Texas from January 23 to 25.
