

Back in 2020, IO Interactive revealed that their next project is revitalizing the James Bond video game franchise with Project 007. Earlier this year, the game was officially revealed as 007 First Light. After the end of its reveal, IO announced that the official gameplay reveal would be coming this Summer. Today, IO Interactive and PlayStation announced that a 007 First Light State of Play is set for Wednesday, September 3, at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 9 pm CEST.

007 First Light is a fresh take on James Bond and offers a new take on his origin story of becoming the world’s most famous spy. After a heroic act, young Naval air crewman James Bond is offered to join the newly revived Double 0 program. But when a mission to stop a rogue agent ends in tragedy, he must join forces with his reluctant mentor Greenway to expose a deep conspiracy and stop a looming coup at the heart of the State.

IO Interactive said that the over 30 minutes of gameplay will feature a playthrough of Bond’s first mission as a MI6 recruit. The mission will include high-speed car chases, on-foot stealth sequences, and shootouts. The developers will also offer insights on the intense espionage gameplay after the playthrough.
