Last October, a crossover fighting game titled Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was released on various gaming platforms. The game itself is akin to that of the Super Smash Bros series, only it features different Nicktoons characters for the player to select. During its initial release, players found themselves entertained, but it seemed like something was missing. Voice acting, which is a key element in many video games was not included. The following quote comes from the original game review on IGN. “There’s no voice acting, no remixes of any themes from the many cartoons featured, and while the stages are littered with fun Easter eggs for fans to discover, it all just feels kind of soulless.”
As of today, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has received a major update including added items and voice acting for each character. Nickelodeon actors such as Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), and David Kaufman (Danny Phantom) have reprised their original roles. The game also features new voice actors such as Jim Meskimen as Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys) and David Kaye as Powdered Toast Man (Ren & Stimpy). In addition to all that, Mark DeCarlo will reprise his role as Hugh Neutron (Jimmy Neutron) when the character drops later this summer. At this point, it is unknown if Carlos Alazraqui will return to voice the main protagonist of Rocko’s Modern Life. Rocko will be a playable DLC character released this fall.
