We’re now just a mere few weeks away from the release of Sniper Elite 5, which will officially launch on May 26 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will also be available on the Xbox Game Pass as a day 1 title, giving subscribers access to yet another brand new IP right out of the gate. Rebellion has released a brand new gameplay trailer that features some of the amazing ways you can take out Nazis as the protagonist OSS operative Karl Fairburne, and it doesn’t disappoint.

The trailer, albeit fairly brief, gives us a nice look at Sniper Elite 5’s gameplay while also highlighting the different modes that we can expect to play in. The first of which is the campaign, which can be played solo or with another player via co-op. There are many ways to approach each mission, but the bread and butter of the franchise has always been stealth, where you then take up a sniper’s position and ready yourself for the kill. Rebellion teases the advanced gunplay physics, which includes being able to change the trajectory of the bullet when aiming down the sights.
Speaking of which, you can also now make your way into strongholds and areas with an improvised travel system, making entry much more imaginative. Last but not least, we get what everyone has been wanting, the enhanced killcam. Perhaps the franchise’s signature feature, the killcam follows the bullet out of the sniper rifle and all the way into the target. From here, we see where the bullet penetrates with a complete x-ray of the body fully loaded with internal organs being destroyed. The enhanced killcam is also shown when using melee weapons on enemies, which only makes the takedown that much more brutal.
There’s also a multiplayer section which has four main modes each with many custom option to make the matches more interesting. You’ll also be able to change several aspects of whatever weapon you’re using to further suit your preferred need and approach. This can be done when finding workplace benches in the game. Rebellion has been very busy making this the definitive sniper title, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
