Today, during the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed that additional Mario Kart courses from past games will be coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as paid DLC. 48 courses will be released within 6 waves of content drops. Each wave will have 8 courses each. Players can access the courses with the purchase of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass or it is available if you have a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. The pass gives access to all six waves as they release. Waves cannot be purchased separately.

During the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed 3 of the first 8 courses coming in the first wave. The first wave is set to release next month on March 18, 2022. The first wave will include Coconut Mall from Wii, Choco Mountain from N64, Tokyo Blur from Tour, Paris Promenade from Tour, Toad Circut from 3DS, Shroom Ridge from 3DS, Sky Garden from Game Boy Advance, and Ninja Hideaway from Tour.
The Booster Course Pass costs $24.99. A Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership costs 49.99 A Family membership costs $79.99. In addition to the Booster Course Pass, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass provides other perks. Members will also get access to the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise DLC at no additional cost and access to a selection of Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis games with added online play.
