We’re quickly approaching the release date for Battlefield 2042. Despite a very brief delay from its original launch date, the game is still considered one of the more anticipated releases of the year, and after its initial reveal, the hype is at an all-time high. Thankfully EA has decided to allow the fans to try the game out for themselves as the company has announced that there will be an Open Beta event taking place next month. The company has revealed this, along with the ever so important PC requirements for those looking to purchase the game on their desktop.

While the actual beta itself will run from October 6-9, two of those days are reserved for those who pre-ordered the game or have an EA Play membership. If you’re one or the other, or both, you’ll have early access to the open beta from October 6-7. The beta will open up to everyone else on October 8. The beta will be playable on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you’re playing on a PlayStation console, you do not have to have PlayStation Plus, but if you’re playing on an Xbox console, you will need to at least have a Gold subscription.
During the beta, players can choose between four different specialists, Webster Mackay, Maria Falk, Pyotr “Boris” Guskovsky, and Wikus “Casper” Van Daele. The beta will also feature only one map, Orbital, which takes place at an active rocket launch site. Lastly, the main mode in the beta will be the franchise’s signature Conquest Mode, albeit on a much smaller scale. Judging from the PC requirements, PC players will need quite a bit in order to run this title. The recommended side alone has a demanding Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 for the graphics card section, something that is not easily obtainable right now.
Battlefield 2042 will officially launch on November 19 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
