Bethesda’s huge hit Skyrim was released 10 years ago this year, on November 11, 2011 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The fifth installation in the Elder Scrolls series, the game remains relevant well into the future, and Bethesda has announced some new releases for the 10 year anniversary. On November 11, 2021, the company will release Skyrim Anniversary Edition for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC. Skyrim Anniversary Edition was announced during Quakecon, and is a celebration of all the successes of Skyrim over the years, both by developers and by fans. Over 500 pieces of new content will be introduced from the Creation Club, including quests, dungeons, weapons, spells, and other content that fits less squarely into these defined categories. This large bundle of Skyrim content, new and old, will be available to those who own Skyrim Special Edition for free, and the Special Edition enhancements will be a part of the Skyrim Anniversary Edition.
To celebrate 10 years, we’re traveling back to Skyrim.

New Skyrim ports and editions have been a staple of the game over the 10 years of its popular existence. The game itself weaves in and out of popular culture, but The Elder Scrolls Series is iconic in video games and has outlasted many other trendy games. Most everyone has tried their hand at some version of Skyrim and its legacy will continue years into the future.
