Immediately after the Nintendo Direct presentation, a three-hour deep-dive on gameplay for a handful of popular Switch games will occur in Nintendo Treehouse: Live. It is unknown as to what games will be played during the virtual event, but with new game releases such as New Pokémon Snap, Miitopia, and Monster Hunter Rise there are sure to be many exciting titles played throughout the show.
Speculation on an upgraded version of the Switch console has fans eager to see what Nintendo plans to unveil. According to a Bloomberg article, people familiar with the matter stated the company plans to release a new version of the console in September or October. The new Switch is theorized to be set at a higher price range than its previous model, and with E3 right around the corner, plans for the new console announcement could be sooner than we think, according to anonymous sources. The sources also revealed to Bloomberg that the upgraded version would be sold alongside the Switch Lite, with plans to phase out the standard Switch over time. The new model also has a new name, but only a handful of people in the Kyoto-based company know what it is.
The possibility of playing new Switch games on an upgraded version of the current console could become a reality very soon. Until the event on June 15, Nintendo enthusiasts will have to wait and see as to what the company has in store.
