Those who own a Nintendo Switch are in for a sweet drop next week. Publisher Devolver Digital has announced that an amalgamation of the Serious Sam franchise, dubbed the Serious Sam Collection, will officially launch for the system next week on November 17 and will be available digitally through the Nintendo Switch eShop. The collection houses three Serious Sam titles including the Legend of the Beast and Jewel of the Nile expansion for the second and third games respectively. The collection will not include Serious Sam 4, which released just this past September.

As we already mentioned, the Serious Sam Collection will include Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, and Serious Sam 3: BFE with the aforementioned two expansions. Apparently, the collection was spotted on the Nintendo Switch eShop beforehand, which more than likely prompted the announcement from Devolver Digital and made it official. As of this writing, the collection will only be available on the Switch, and for PC through Google Stadia. While there has been no word on a physical edition, it’s possible that the folks over at Limited Run Games could do something in that endeavor should they be given the chance.
It’s also a possibility that the collection could be released at some point for the Xbox Series X/Series S and the PlayStation 5, but only time will tell if that ever comes to pass. Either way, this is an excellent opportunity for Nintendo fans to finally experience one of PC’s most beloved FPS franchises. The most recent entry in the series, Serious Sam 4, launched in September of this year with some anticipation as it was the first Serious Same title to come out since 2011. Despite this, it received a bit of a mixed reception upon release.
