During the Xbox Games Showcase event, GSC Game World revealed the sequel of their famous post-nuclear survivalist sandbox trilogy. A Stalker 2 trailer was released today during the Xbox Showcase. Based on today’s event, Stalker 2 will be known for the legendary open-world first shooter with a unique blend of immersive sim and horror.
The trailer starts off with an opening of a grimy door then suddenly a flock of birds flying around an iconic abandoned Ferris wheel inside the Pripyat exclusion zone. It then shows the games trademark anomalies which included a rock that is depicted as a red glow floating in the middle of the park with a cloud of static electricity taking over the schoolroom and a gravitational orb that has crushed abandoned cars nearby.
Stalker 2 first surfaced back in March of this year with a screenshot to let fans see what was going to be in store for them and also an assurance that this GSC’s most ambitious game yet to come. The developers of Stalker 2, Ukrainian studio of GSC Game World, first announced this back in 2018 with a release window around the time of 2021. They explained on Facebook that It’s not yet ready to disclose the specific release date. With the previous attempt being aborted years ago and being a decade later, fans will still be excited to see what is coming for the return of The Zone.
Based on the Xbox Games Website they discussed the matter of the simulation of the factions and creatures in Stalker 2 and that they will be controlled by A-Life 2.0 which is a “reimagined version” of the A-Life system that has appeared in the original games. “Countless events and encounters will happen every moment — even if you are not around to witness them with your own eyes.”
Fans will be excited about the return of Stalker 2 and can’t wait to see what the game will have in store for them based on this newly released trailer. As of right now, there is no exact release date but the game will be coming to Xbox Series X as a “console launch exclusive and will be part of Xbox Game Pass Program.
