The newest title in the series of drama horror games, Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope and Man of Medan will take players on two separate survival horror adventures through the perspectives of five different playable characters. From the creators of the popular horror game Until Dawn, the Dark Pictures Anthology is composed of two games, the first one released in 2019 being the Man of Medan campaign that “brings supernatural horror on board a ghost-ship adrift in the South Pacific.” The second game in the collection, and the most recently released, is Little Hope, set in the dark New England town of New Hope as players will “witness terrifying visions of the past whilst trying to escape the streets of Little Hope.” IGN’s Dev Diary video for the game offers more information about the setting, themes and story for the Little Hope. The hugely branching story of the Dark Pictures Anthology will give players the opportunity to affect the story with every choice they make throughout the game, and the multiple stories can be played in single player or in multiplayer modes.
A quick detour, and all hell breaks loose.

According to the game’s official website, both of the campaigns in the Dark Pictures Anthology can be played with others in online and split-screen modes. There are also three separate and unique modes of play for the game: Solo Story, Movie Night Mode and Shared Story mode. Solo mode is the classic singleplayer experience offered in many games, while the special Movie Night Mode will allow “you and up to 4 friends the ability to play the story together on the couch, each controlling a different character.” The final mode for the game is the Shared Story Mode, which will allow two players to play online co-op, making choices that will affect both players and the story. The newest story in The Dark Pictures Anthology will be making its way to the Xbox One, PS4 and PC systems on October 31st of this year, just in time for Halloween. Pre-orders for the game will give access to the special Curator’s Cut with special scenes and playable moments that won’t be available in the main game.
