These particular Quantic Dream games are former PlayStation exclusives, with Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls initially launching for the PlayStation 3 in 2010 and 2013 respectively. Detroit: Become Human released in the middle of 2018 and was the studio’s first PlayStation 4 game. Eventually, the two former games would also make their way to the PlayStation 4 as part of the Quantic Dream Collection. Each game has gone onto being well received, especially Detroit: Become Human which has sold more than 3 million units worldwide.
In March of 2019, and after much speculation, Quantic Dream announced that the three aforementioned games would finally be heading to the PC platform exclusively through the Epic Games Store. Since most of the games that become part of the Epic Games Store eventually become available for Steam, this announcement doesn’t come as too much of a surprise to us. This was also evident before the studio made the reveal, as the demos on Steam were uploaded just beforehand.
This is also coming shortly after Quantic Dream announced that they will become fully independent and self-publish all of their future titles. Before this, the studio was working with Sony as a proprietary developer for the PlayStation family of consoles. However, this opens up many alleyways and avenues for future projects on other systems such as the upcoming Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5, as well as PC. Until then, we’ve got three excellent games to enjoy, and they’ll be joining the massive Steam library very soon.
