Last week marked the 10th anniversary of Awesome Games Done Quick, a 24-hour speedrunning marathon featuring high-level gameplay from expert speedrunners in support of Prevent Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and early detection of cancer. Now, AGDQ announced that a total of $3.13 million was raised for Prevent Cancer Foundation, the most in its 10-year history.

This year also had more donations than any previous Games Done Quick event. There were more than 54,000 donations from more than 80 countries. More than 2,750 people attended AGDQ 2020 in person. On Twitch, the event peaked at more than 236,000 concurrent viewers. More than 130 games were featured at the event. For comparison, more than 2,200 people attended AGDQ 2019 and the Twitch broadcast had a peak of 219,240 concurrent viewers. More than $2.39 million was raised for Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Prevent Cancer Foundation is one of the nation’s leading voluntary health organizations and the only U.S. nonprofit focused solely on cancer prevention and early detection. It has catapulted cancer prevention and awareness to prominence and has fulfilled its mission through research, education, outreach, and advocacy since it was founded in 1985.

Games Done Quick is a series of charity video game marathons featuring high-level gameplay by speedrunners raising money for charity. GDQ has teamed up with several charities in its seven-year history such as Doctors Without Borders and Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Awesome Games Done Quick 2021 is set to take place from January 3-10, 2021, at a location yet to be announced. The next Games Done Quick event is Summer Games Done Quick 2020 which takes place on June 21-28 in Bloomington, Minnesota. SGDQ 2019 raised $3 million for Doctors Without Borders.
