At long last, Bandai Namco has revealed when Broly (DBS) will be unleashed upon us in their fighting game Dragon Ball FighterZ. Apparently, we wont have to wait long to get our hands on this second iteration of the Legendary Super Saiyan. He’s coming next week on Thursday, December 5. In addition, he will be the final fighter of the Second Season for the game.

The company didn’t hold any punches with this one, as the gameplay trailer truly shows what a destructive force of nature Broly (DBS) is. Some of you might be confused as there is already a Broly within the game. As we mentioned earlier, this is the second version of the warrior, with the first one being from the movie series of the same name in the Dragon Ball Z universe. This addition of Broly (DBS) is from the most recent film in the franchise, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which takes place at the end of the Dragon Ball Super timeline.
In terms of the anime, the Dragon Ball Super Broly is far superior in terms of combat prowess, being able to go toe to toe with both Goku and Vegeta while they’re both in their Super Saiyan God Super Saiyn forms. This domination seems to have translated very well into Dragon Ball FighterZ as the trailer demonstrates all of these attributes in full. If anyone hasn’t seen the movie that he is based off of, the trailer also does a pretty good job bringing you up to speed by abridging the story with special in game interactions with all of the fighters involved.
Broly completes the Second Season of the game’s DLC, which also brought in some heavy hitters this year such as Jiren, Gogeta (SSGSS), Janemba, and Videl. Neither Bandai Namco nor Arc System Works have stated whether there will be a Third Season yet, so we’ll have to wait and see if there is more content on the way for 2020. Broly (DBS) will be released for Dragon Ball FighterZ on Thursday, December 5 which is next week for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
