Nintendo of America has finally revealed the release date for their upcoming mobile game Mario Kart Tour. According to Gamespot, Mario Kart Tour will have players race around, “courses inspired by real-world cities in addition to classic Mario Kart courses,”. This means that players will be able to enjoy courses that encompass both the real world, and the Mario Kart courses that they have played in previous games.

The game will also apparently change available courses every two weeks, allowing players to experience a variety of courses. The article also states that certain characters will be given different outfits that go with the atmosphere of the city, whether this applies only to real world city courses or to both real and classic courses is currently unknown.
The game itself is meant to be played using a single finger to control the character, as well as perform various tricks, and activate any items the player acquires on the course. The game will also reportedly have a feature known as “Frenzy Mode” that will grant players access to an infinite amount of a certain items as well as make players invincible for a limited time.
Mario Kart Tour is a free-to-play game that will feature in game purchases using virtual items called “Grand Stars”. Players can earn these Grand Stars either through purchase,or through the completion of certain objectives. The game will also feature a badge system that will allow players who have completed certain challenges, online play, as well as a leaderboard to find out who is the greatest racer in the world. Mario Kart Tour releases on September 25, on the iOS and Android, and is available for pre-order now.
