A new rumor has new information into next year’s Call of Duty title. We already know that due to a change in development, next year’s Call of Duty will be done by Treyarch and it will be a new entry into the Black Ops series. The new rumor suggests that Treyarch may follow suit with what Infinity Ward is doing with this year’s Call of Duty title, Modern Warfare and maybe rebooting the Black Ops franchise to be “more gritty and gruesome than Modern Warfare.” The rumor comes from YouTuber TheLongSensation.
Call of Duty 2020 has been under 2 names thus far.

While this is a rumor, TheLongSensation also revealed that this year’s Call of Duty title will be Modern Warfare before it was officially revealed. One of the many things that have been said about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is how striking the campaign is. Activision said to “expect a single-player experience that is edgy, culturally relevant, and thought-provoking.” Recently, Activision and Treyarch revealed the new multiplayer for Call of Duty Modern Warfare. The game is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 25, 2019.
All that we’ve known about next year’s Call of Duty was the big shift in development teams from Raven and Sledgehammer to Treyarch. A major factor in this decision was the alleged “tension” between Raven and Sledgehammer, with both companies arguing frequently about the direction of the project, describing the relationship as “a mess.” Raven and Sledgehammer have moved into a support role for the game while Treyarch will incorporate “the development work that’s already been done by Raven and Sledgehammer on the single-player content will likely be converted to a campaign for Black Ops 5.
