With Mortal Kombat 11 a couple of months in, it’s only right that its competitive scene is picking up more and more with professionals and amateurs around the world. The Mortal Kombat Pro Kompetition, which is being called the Kombat League, has been revealed by NetherRealm Studios and Intersport. The League is an assortment of online and offline, also called Premier, tournaments for Mortal Kombat 11 players.
Fighters will be able to earn points throughout these tournaments that will determine their rank in the League. Players will be competing with the end goal of being one of the top twelve ranked players who will be invited to participate in the Mortal Kombat Pro Kompetition Final Kombat to see who really deserves to be called the best of the best. Joining these twelve will be one qualifier each from the Mortal Kombat Klash, InterKontinental Kup, Liga Latina, and the Last Chance Qualifier.
The game play rules center around players competing against one another on PlayStation 4. A competitor will win a match if they are the first to defeat their opponent in two rounds. With the newer characters being added in Kombat Packs, players will be able to play new characters only after they have been made available at least 30 days before the beginning of a particular tournament.
What’s on everybody’s mind is: What are the prize pools? For Premier tournaments, winners will be awarded $5,000 out of the $15,000 prize purse from Intersport. The same exact pool applies for placing in an Evolution tournament and the major prize for being named a champion at the Mortal Kombat Pro Kompetition Final Kombat have yet to be announced.
