Michael Hicks, the developer behind The Path of Motus, has been working tirelessly to get his upcoming game out. Just a couple days ago on Twitter, it was revealed that The Path of Motus will be launching later this month.

The title’s main concept revolves around the idea that words can hurt others. In the game, a village of goblins reside in a mysterious forest, but they are trapped, and anyone who wishes to leave always ends up back at the village, hopeless and defeated. One goblin, Motus, is determined to break new ground. He plans on building a series of bridges in order to accomplish this, but he is tested, as bullies are keen on stopping Motus from completing his goal. These bullies will utilize word combat to hurt and stop Motus, so perseverance is needed to help the goblin through his quest.
Over the course of the game, players will watch as Motus grows from a young child to an adult. Throughout Motus’ years, players will be able to find out the core root of why these bullies have resorted to aggression, and you will find out the motivations of other characters as well.
“I feel the discussion around this topic often ignores the root causes of bullying,” says Hicks in a press release. “so hopefully this game lets us see how our own actions potentially contribute to this issue.”
The Path of Motus will be releasing July 17 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. As stated above, you can also pick up the digital soundtrack now, but you can also hold out and purchase the digital deluxe edition of the title, for that will also include the game’s soundtrack.
