Middle-earth: Shadow of War released a new story expansion today. Blade of Galadriel allows players to play as Eltariel, an elite Elven assassin working for the titular Galadriel. You can dual wield Elven blades and harness the Light of Galadriel in combat, with wide range of new abilities, skills and gear to combat the Nazgul.
Galadriel seems to have an issue with Talion, the lead character of the main campaign. Spoilers ahead, for anyone who hasn’t completed the main story. Talion took Isildur’s ring after killing him in Shadow of War. Now after being abandoned by Celebrimbor, he has taken to wearing the ring himself. This turn of events has him on a slow ride to becoming a Nazgul himself, which has him on Galadriel’s radar.
Galadriel sends Eltariel after him and it’s up to her to either talk him down and save him, or finish him off before he becomes even more of a threat and goes full Nazgul.
Along with the new story line, the expansion also features new Nemesis characters Flint, Tinder, and the Slayer of the Dead, as well as eight new Legendary Orcs with new abilities to join players in their main quest. Tunnel Rat lets Orcs burrow into the ground and summon Ghûls, and Sniper Shot, which causes archers to fire from great distances with pinpoint accuracy. Tremor, makes Ologs slam the ground and Gifts of Treasure affects followers and offers an alternate way to earn Gems and Mirian.
In addition to the expansion, the game also released an update today which updates photo mode, incorporates a new menu, adds a new skin and more. The full patch notes are available on Steam.
