Quakecon 2017 is here, and it’s time for the Quake World $1,000,000 Championship.
Of course, Quake isn’t the only thing on display at Quakecon 2017, players can sink their teeth into competitive Doom, Elder Scrolls: Legends and Rage, as well as jumping into demos of games coming out in the near future;
In the Exhibit Hall… attendees have the opportunity to be some of the first to get hands-on time with the highly anticipated The Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, as well as jump into Quake Champions and Bethesda’s upcoming VR titles — Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim VR and DOOM VFR. Plus, watch the million dollar finale of the Quake World Championships live, in person.
Quake Champions, the latest game in the franchise, came to Steam’s early access, you can buy Quake Champions here. While you’re on Steam, make sure you check out all of the Quakecon deals, as they have discounted most of their games during the event. To top it all of, it looks like it’s going to be a very virtual reality heavy holiday, Bethesda’s virtual reality editions of Skyrim, Doom and Fallout 4, have finally gotten concrete release dates:
- Skyrim VR: November 17th for PSVR
- Doom VFR: December 1st for PSVR
- Fallout 4 VR: Decenver 12th for HTC VIVE
Even tabletop gamers get some love at Quakecon, with four separate tabletop tournaments going on during Quakecon:
- Ticket to Ride Tournament : August 24
- Settlers of Catan Tournament: August 25
- Friday Night Magic Tournament: August 25
- Magic the Gathering Star City Invitation Quarterly Qualifier: August 26
