Dying Light, the zombie survival game that was released back in early 2015 still has about half a million players engaged with the game. And recently developer Techland has announced that it will release new DLC for the game over the course of year. Techland announced that Dying Light will receive 10 pieces of DLC over the next 12 months.
CEO Paweł Marchewka said in the announcement “Almost three years after the original Dying Light was released, about half a million people still play the game every week. In the very first months on the market in 2015, the weekly numbers were around 700,000. This shows that our community is still huge, active, and craving for more. Today I’m happy to announce Techland’s continuous support for Dying Light.”
The expansions will provide new enemies, more in game events, new locations, story driven quests, new gameplay mechanics and much more. This new content will be free for all players no matter what platform they are playing on. The first update named Content Drop 0, will be available “in the coming weeks,” and will introduce all new enemies to the game.
Techland has also stated that they will begin hosting up to four community events per quarter in the future and plan to continue improving the game based on feedback they receive from players. They will also launch a dedicated community platform in order to improve interaction with the community “through which fans will have an influence on what kind of new content is created.” The developer will announce more details about this platform in the near future.
