According to GameSpot, several retailers have accidentally leaked what look to be Switch versions of Telltale Games’ Batman game as well as their upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy game. Batman was a series Telltale worked on last year and was available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, iOS, Android and PC; so pretty much everything except Nintendo consoles. Details about the Guardians of the Galaxy game were released recently, but it has not been specified what platforms the game will be available for.
UK retailer 365games shows Batman and Guardians of the Galaxy for the Switch if you search “Telltale Switch.” Russian retailer GameBuy also appears to have Switch versions of these games, while American retailer Newegg claims a Switch version of Guardians of the Galaxy. Telltale has not made an official statement on any of their games getting Switch ports. When GameSpot reached out to Telltale regarding these recent leaks, a representative simply stated that Guardians of the Galaxy will be available for “consoles, PC and mobile devices,” declining to state which consoles specifically.
One of the issues with Nintendo’s previous console, the Wii U, was its lack of much third-party support. This was likely one of the reasons why the Wii U is Nintendo’s worst-selling home console to date. Nintendo has promised to rectify this by giving the Switch more third-party compatibility, including a plethora of indie games. No doubt the popular Telltale Games, who have developed such titles as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us and Game of Thrones, would make a welcome addition to the Switch’s lineup.
