Sony has announced the latest feature to come to their PlayStation Vue service, Multi-View.
The new feature is available starting today, and allows viewers to watch up to three live channels on one screen at the same time. The user picks one main TV channel to watch and listen to, and can monitor the two additional channels on the side at the same time, jumping back and forth between them as desired.
Multi-view is described as being geared primarily towards sports-viewing, letting users monitor more than one game feed to stay on top of all the action. The launch comes just in time for the beginning of March Madness, too, which starts next week.
Multi-view comes as part of a new effort by Sony to introduce more sports-oriented features to PS Vue. In this announcement they also tease a new feature that will add real-time sports scores to help viewers know which game to watch, with a spoiler-free option as well for those waiting to watch a game later.
To start using multi-view on your PS Vue, press and hold X on a live TV program from the Guide to bring up the selection screen, and then choose your multi-view setup, either two or three screens. You can then select any other ongoing live programs from the Live TV strand and start streaming them alongside one another. Only the main screen will have audio. To switch programs within the multi-view array, highlight the small screen you want to move to center and press the Square button.
Some of the channels listed by Sony as available with the service are TNT, TBS, TruTV, and CBS. Viewers are encouraged to visit www.psvue.com to learn more about available channels in their area.
