With the impending release of Grand Theft Auto VI approaching faster, new information regarding how players will be able to access the game is coming out as well. Today, Rockstar Games announced how pre-loading will work for the game and when it will be available, along with providing a guide and FAQ for setting up the process.
As with any big release that allow for players to pre-load the game prior to release, Grand Theft Auto VI will let players download all of the game’s contents before the game is available to play so that the game will be ready to play as soon as possible. This is especially relevant for the coming title since the pre-load file will require 212 GB of data available in order to download. In addition to the storage space, players will also need to enable settings of their devices for pre-loading. For the PlayStation this means enabling auto-download and ensuring that the console is either on or in rest mode. For Xbox, players will enable automatic updates and will similarly need their console to not be powered off completely.
Pre-loading for Grand Theft Auto VI will become available on November 10th, just over a week before the game’s official release. For PlayStation players, the exact time will depend on the player’s time zone and will be available at midnight. Pre-loading will be available for Xbox players globally at 12 a.m. GMT. In addition to the game, more content will be available to download on November 19th, including a cover art poster and a map of Leonida.
The long wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is quickly coming to an end, with the download now being less than a week away and the playable game less than three weeks away. Those who choose to pre-load will be able to play the game as soon as it releases on November 19th.
