Duck Side of the Moon is a cozy exploration game developed by Starbrew Games, an indie game studio based in the Netherlands. The game initially released earlier this year on May 7, 2026 for PC gamers and now it is coming to the PlayStation Store! For those unfamiliar with the game, players embody Doug, the duck astronaut, who has crashed his spaceship due to being overworked. Now, they must explore their environment, interact with talking geodes, and repair his ship to help him return home.
Gameplay features a whimsical galaxy, wholesome quests to complete, and a heartfelt story about finding home. Players are able to customize their spaceship, designing the cozy galactic home of their dreams. They can also customize their astronaut with a variety of outfits and hats.
The game has received high praise on Steam with players enjoying their conversations with the NPCs and learning more about their character as they explore the world. One thing is for sure, the game lives up to it’s wholesome experience. Duck Side of the Moon is also receiving a major update, which will be available across all platforms.
This update, known as Homegrown, is scheduled to release on the same date that the game launches for PS5 players, November 17, 2026. A new area will be added to the game along with a gardening quest and more customizations for the player’s ship. Players will be able to plant seeds and tend to their crops in this completely free update.
An official PS5 announcement trailer was posted yesterday, granting players insight into the new features and gameplay. It highlights the beautiful flora from large vines to space waterfalls. One of the new characters is also depicted with leaves covering their entire body except their face. The Homegrown update is sure to add another layer to this already cozy adventure, feeding the gardening itch of cozy gamers.
