Dying Light: Stay Human is about to get spookier than it already is. Techland has announced their plans for the 2026 Halloween season with their community event: Halloween Shutdown.
Gather around with friends and the Dying Light community to all pitch into shared goals that will change throughout the course of this three week event. Going based off of last year’s event, this one will be much of the same, but has a twist. Each goal will be presented as fight between two characters, meaning every player will pick the side of their choosing. Both players will have their own separate rewards if they receive the most fan recognition, those who backed the winning chracter will reap the benefits of each win.
Not only is the community being brought together yet again, but the enemies and locations in the game will be decked out for the occasion as well. Villedor will be beautifully decorated for the traditional Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos. Cempasúchils and candles will warmly welcome you in this area, whereas a traditional Halloween look in Tower Raid awaits you.
Enemies will have their own outfits for the festivities, such as Renegades dawning colorful masks designed after calaveras. Making another appearance from previous a Halloween event, the pumpkin head Volatile will be present and as scary as ever. The Hag is modeled after a witch with a pointy hat atop her head, and will trail a ghoulish green streak behind her as she hurls toward you. The Goons will be dressed as mangly scarecrows, their veins and eyes glowing an orange hue. Demolishers will take on the role of a mummy, with gauze wrapped around their bodies and heads. The typical walkers you encounter at every corner will also be fit for the event, as they will take on the appearance of a more traditional zombie, with green skin and gleaming green eyes.
Prepare yourself, every week will bring on one of these enemy types to face off against. Defeating the week’s target will earn you Showdown Candies, that can also be found around the map in chests, and can be spent at Baka’s Event Shop and to support your favorite characters. The more candies you donate, the more payout you will get.
The Dying Light 2: Stay Human 2026 Halloween Shutdown event will begin October 26th and end November 15th.
