Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave takes after its predecessor in Fire Emblem: Three Houses in many ways. Recently, Nintendo revealed that just like that game, Fortune’s Weave would be receiving multiple DLC releases to provide new content in the latest expansion pass trailer. The content is stated by released in three separate waves, each promising to be larger than the last, finally capping off with story content for the game’s main four rivals that are currently unplayable in the main game.
The first wave introduced is planned to be released on the same day as the announcement and introduces powerful prototype weapons modeled after the iconic Heroes Relics from Three Houses. Each of the game’s main four lords will have access to one of the weapons of the previous game’s main characters. The second wave, coming in December of this year, will supply the characters with new alternate outfits to use while exploring the world which can also be given to that team’s allies. It will also feature new playable characters in three of the gods of Dagda, who are shown to have attacks that deal incredible damage and powerful support abilities that affect a wide area.
The third wave of the game, coming in 2027, promises to be the largest yet, with story content planned for the four other major teams from the heroic games that were previously unplayable as main routes. Whether this story content is as long and complete as the main four routes is yet to be announced, though the trailer does show off new cutscenes following each of the key characters. The trailer ends by confirming that the new content will reveal the truths behind mysteries that went unanswered in the current four routes of the game.
Nintendo is well known for having large amounts of content in the expansion pass of many of their games, with many of the features coming to Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave being similar or connected to the DLC released for Three Houses, with one major addition that is all its own. The first of the three new waves is set to release today.
