ForMind is a psychological horror game that has set in a ZiroTech underwater complex with atmospheric inspiration from popular titles such as Dead Space and Resident Evil. The complex is infected with zombies that players must kill if they hope to survive.
The main protagonist is Marcus Holt, a former military medic and virologist. As Marcus, players begin the story when he is woken up from cryosleep inside the infected ZiroTech facility. His memories are spotty. He is trapped deep underneath the Pacific Ocean with people who have been changed by a mysterious virus.
Players will encounter staff that have been mutated into zombies. They are aggressive, vicious, and ready to strike at any moment. They will have to be on their guard while helping Marcus find his family and escape to the surface. There will be a variety of high-tech weapons and gadgets for players to utilize while surviving against all odds.
The trailer reveals a mix of these gadgets and gear, ranging from hand-held weapons to those that can be thrown or mounted onto the wall. One gadget shown is called the spinner, which attacks zombies that walk through it. There is also a wall mountable laser perfect for setting traps.
However, players must be careful as these zombies adapt to what the players do. Enemies will analyze the players actions, play dead, and even set up traps of their own. These are the remaining traces of their humanity which will add an unpredictable element to the gameplay.
ForMind is scheduled to release sometime within the first quarter of 2027, though no set date has been revealed as of late. Players interested in testing out the game’s mechanics and the adaptive combat can download the demo via Steam. This is one zombie game to keep an eye on for next year.
