Today, developer Sony Santa Monica and PlayStation have shared the pre-order details for God of War Laufey. Pre-orders will go live starting tomorrow, September 29, at 10 am local time. In addition to details about the different editions and pre-order bonuses, Sony Santa Monica also provided the first look at a new weapon Faye can utilize in her arsenal and some details on how players can customize Faye to fit their preferred playstyle.

God of War Laufey’s pre-order bonuses include the Last Wish Armor set, the Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance (cosmetic) and an in-game resource pack. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, in-game resource pack, digital mini artbook, and the official God of War Laufey digital soundtrack.
The Serpent Bow is an enchanted bow with the shifting form of a serpent, allowing Faye to weave deadly arrow strikes alongside her other attacks. The bow can be used in both close-quarters and ranged combat.
The Serpent Bow features two modes that players can choose from: Full-aim and Half-aim.
In Full-aim, Faye will have more precise aim and increased draw distance when the player fully presses down the aim trigger. Faye can impair an enemy’s movement or ability to strike, giving her the perfect opening to follow up with a melee hit. Faye can charge up to five arrows for a powerful volley.
While players press the trigger halfway for Half-aim, Faye will enter more of a mobile hip-fire stance. In this mode, Faye’s can unleash a cluster of arrows for devestating damage at close range. This quick-fire style allows Faye to juggle airborne enemies and extend combos as players seamlessly swaps between weapons and abilities. The Serpent Bow also has different weapon types: rapid fire, explosive detonations, multi-target, that can deepen a player’s playstyle.
In addition to the aim modes and arrow types, the player can choose from different Scales. These will change the look of the weapon and the type of playstyle it specializes in with a unique perk. There are also unlockable skills that players can choose from to expand the Serpent Bow’s capabilities even further.
Faye’s different armor options allow players to choose between a range of gameplay perks, stats, and unique looks. Players can also customize other gear to further enhance different playstyles:
- Blade: Customizable element of Faye’s sword
- Scales: Customizable element of Faye’s Serpent Bow
- Catalyst: Powerful artifacts capable of channeling the potent magic of the Everywhen, Faye will be able to choose from a variety of Catalysts with different effects
God of War Laufey launches on February 16, 2027, for PlayStation 5.
