Developer Techland is wellknown for their attentiveness to their games, especially their Dead Island and Dying Light franchises. Fans expect anual events and updates to their games, and Techland delivers.
This occasion is no different, in honor of Dying Light: The Beast turning a year old, they have planned an anniversary event.
Beginning on September 21st, fans can expect various perks regarding the game. Even if you don’t own the game yet you can reap the rewards, it will be on sale for the lowest price it’s ever been; the base game and optional bundles are currently all 50% off.
This three week long celebration will have weekly zombie killing challenges for the community to participate in, the first being “blunt weapons vs sharp weapons”, and the others to be named soon. These challenges will also serve to the overarching global goal of 50 million kills.
Rewards can be earned after achieving goals, which has been revealed to be: a Castor keychain, Kyle’s cane, and a new golden suit skin for protagonist Kyle Crane. The keychain and cane will have Castor Wood’s beloved animal the beaver on each one.
Players can also look foward to being rewarded for logging into the game every day of the event. The “Crane’s Anniversary Drops” page will be home to mysterious gifts, one of which the trailer allowed us a sneak peak at. The gift in question is a golden revolver that is stylized to fit Crane’s new skin for his first year on screens in his beast form.
While most of the gifts and rewards are hidden,Techland has placed an emphasis on two by placing a save the date on their events roadmap for September 18th and October 14th.
Along side all of the excitement, there will be an update to fix and improve gameplay and realism.
