BOMBANANA! is an upcoming online co-op game developed by Lefto Studio and published by TARK. It was one of the top five most played demos at Steam’s Next Fest June 2026 and the game’s popularity continues to grow! On August 12th, Lefto Studio announced the game’s official release date and that it has reached 1 million wishlists on Steam.
Those who have already been having a blast playing the demo do not have to wait long as BOMBANANA! will be releasing September 2nd, 2026. Nearly two weeks from now. The developers have decided to push back the initial release date by one week to add more polish to the game, along with more features.
For those who have not yet heard of this game, here is the key mechanics to know. It is a 3-player co-op where the party must work together to defuse a bomb, but there is a catch. One person is blind, another is mute, and the last one is deaf. The Blind Monkey will be able to touch the bomb, but cannot see it. This means they will need to rely on their teammates to see for them.
The Mute Monkey is the only one in the group that can read the bomb disposal manual. However, they are unable to voice what they know to the other two players. This means that they must use hand signals to communicate how to properly defuse the bomb to their teammates.
The Deaf Monkey can see the bomb and their teammates, but they cannot hear them. They must decipher what their teammates are trying to signal to them or throw a banana at them when the deciphering becomes too overwhelming. However, it’s important for players to keep in mind that in this game there is no one right way to defuse the bomb.
Players interested in checking out should do so now before it is removed from the Steam page on August 19th. Though as players wait, the developers have stated that they plan on holding private playtests, which can be signed up for on their discord server.
